The company’s vision is to continually raise the bar for their customer experience with the aim to be the best delivery company in the UK and across Europe. Pertemps supported our client in hiring an additional 1,200 temporary drivers across 172 UK locations.
The challenge:
This leading postal and courier organization experienced a significant spike in order volume related to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic – to meet increased customer demand at a time when their workforce was depleted through increased absence levels caused by the pandemic.
This created a need for the rapid hiring of additional drivers to meet the requirements of their customers and manage the significant spike in order volume related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The solution:
We have worked with this well-known organisation for a decade and provide a fully outsourced managed service contingent worker solution. Building upon our existing scalable delivery model, we modified and flexed our approach by assembling and deploying an increased candidate care team, leveraging our experienced nationwide branch network and shared service delivery centres.
The dedicated contract delivery team focused on delivering positive experiences: delivery performance, issue resolution and candidate experience.
Working practices were adapted to ensure the wellbeing of our teams and all necessary equipment was rolled out. Revised processes included remote registrations and vetting verification implemented.
Set up the enhanced vetting of candidates including DBS checks and 5-year work history via our fast track remote, automated screening service.
